As Director of Human Resources, reporting to the Associate Superintendent of Employee Services, you will have overall district responsibility for the recruitment and staffing function of the organization, with a focus on ensuring staffing levels comply with budgets and staffing plans. You bring expert knowledge and a broad understanding of the public education issues and programs, ensuring staffing formulas are met within the fiscal budget requirements.

Along with leading and motivating the staffing, recruitment, and dispatch teams within the department, you will conduct seminars and workshops to train administrators and management staff. Furthermore, you will oversee all employee posting and fill processes, calculate staff entitlements, and consult with various departments. Last, in addition to the many duties associated with this role, you will keep abreast of the latest developments and legislation surrounding recruitment and staffing services.

Your strong communication and business writing skills are imperative for developing and administering policies for school organizations, and providing advice related to staffing, collective agreement administration/interpretation, and human resources policies. In this role, you will touch upon all aspects of advisory services including participation in Committee Meetings, grievances, and bargaining as required. Outstanding interpersonal, problem-solving, and communications skills are key to success. You will build, maintain, and establish new relationships with administrators, District staff, the District and Senior Management Team, Trustees and outside agencies regarding specific collective agreement administration and interpretation as related to staffing.

Your background is exemplary. It includes recent school based administrative experience, extensive leadership examples, teaching practices, and knowledge of staffing organization for K- 12.  Experience working within a unionized environment is critical to the role. Last, a valid Teachers Certificate and Criminal Record Clearance from the Teachers Regulation Branch is required for all applicants.
