Your responsibilities will be significant. Your broad portfolio will include oversight of seven main areas – Labour Relations, Staffing, Recruitment & Retention, Employee Wellness, Occupational Health & Safety, Compensation Management and Payroll & Benefits. Your exceptional leadership skills will allow you to inspire and support the committed and professional department managers and staff. In addition to your departmental leadership, you are an active member of the Senior Management Team. As part of this team, you will work alongside the Superintendent, Secretary Treasurer and two other Associate Superintendents in moving forward the strategic direction of the Board of Trustees.

Your strong background in the K-12 Education Sector, or within a complex public sector organization, is complimented by a proven track record of building strong relationships. Your exceptional interpersonal skills will allow you to work well with the dedicated team of human resources professionals in the department as well as with the fourteen unions, associations and employee groups. Transparent communications, inclusive decision making and a respectful business ethos are the hallmarks of your leadership style, as is an ability to effectively manage changing conditions and emerging issues.

Above all, you are committed to the people of our district—you have a strong understanding of how employee wellness and professional growth contribute to the district’s wider goals. An open and generous leader, you empower others, identify their strengths and provide them with opportunities to excel.

Although not required, an advanced degree in education and eligibility for a teaching certificate in BC is considered an asset.
