An Inspirational Leader for an Innovative School District

The Board of Education of District 71 requires a new Superintendent of Schools

The beautiful Comox Valley the community is a vibrant hub for agriculture, technology, tourism and services.  The district is located on the traditional lands of the K’omoks First Nations and extends to 7 different communities from Black Creek in the north through Courtenay/Comox to Hornby and Denman Islands and Fanny Bay in the south.  Comox Valley school district is a “learning community that embraces diversity, honours relationships and prepares all learners for a changing world.”  The school district has approximately 7,000 students and 1,300 employees spread across twenty-three schools and work sites.

You are an inspirational, self-aware and visionary leader able to bring together teams of people to provide 21st Century learning to all students.  Compassionate, respectful and strongly principled, you are an open communicator who is able to work cohesively with a team, build positive labour relations, and work effectively with district partners and the elected Board of Education.

In addition to a graduate degree, you have school and senior leadership experience and are eligible for membership with the B.C. “In the past 30 years, the Comox Valley’s population has more than doubled.  With its comfortable climate, alpine-to-ocean geography, exceptional recreational opportunities and affordable housing, it’s no wonder.”
