In a district that puts its vision of “Meeting each student’s unique needs” into practice through great educational initiatives, you will leverage your proven collaborative leadership style to helm the learning programs, fiscal and school operations in a growing school district.

You have a proven ability to work effectively with a Board of Education that is aligned in supporting the diverse educational programs that support every learner, including our population of vulnerable learners from low socio-economic backgrounds and our growing indigenous student body.  You have a keen understanding and respect for the balance between governance and management of a school district.  You have experience assisting a Board in the governance and oversight of the district while simultaneously managing the operational oversight of a complex school district.

Committed to meeting the goals and objectives of a strategic plan and achievement contract, you will advocate educational change and innovation, mentor leaders within the organization and advance a professional growth and performance management culture across the district. Understanding the connection between system strategic goals and student improvement, you will monitor the progress of school plans, provide leadership for ongoing professional teacher development and use meaningful student achievement data to lead continuous improvement of student outcomes based on best practices and research.

Combining your educational expertise with administrative and business acumen, you will lead the development of, and maintenance of, Strategic Plans, Frameworks for Student Learning, Facilities planning and budget development and oversight through this time of educational transformation and enrolment growth.  You are a champion of diversity, teamwork and adaptive leadership. Your support will be key to creating leaders in our district through shared responsibility and accountability, and to building community engagement through valuing and encouraging parent, indigenous and community interaction in schools.

This role that will call upon your ability to manage and develop significant district budgets that link the budget process to student success. Overseeing the hiring and evaluation of teaching and school-based administrative staff will also fall to you.

You have a passion for student success and understand that when our staffs have opportunities to excel and work toward their potential, our students will too. In addition to an unwavering commitment to student achievement, you are known for strong leadership and managerial courage. You have an unerring ability to build trusting stakeholder relationships–whether with parents or union groups–but can work through conflicts, when they arise, in a productive and respectful manner.
